News Flash: In case you need a refresher on animal facts, here’s this tidbit: cheetahs are really, really fast. In fact, Sarah the cheetah, the fastest cheetah in the world, ran the 100m in 5.95s. To put things in perspective, Sarah’ s time is faster than Usain Bolt’s world record by roughly three seconds.
Sarah hails from the Cincinnati Zoo, where recently a team of Hollywood videographers hired by National Geographic captured Sarah and some other cheetahs running at top speeds of over 60mph.
In order to capture the action in slow motion, the film crew used a Phantom camera that filmed at 1200 frames per second.
